Higher than Forecasts: 4.4% real GDP Growth in Armenia

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia real GDP growth in the first quarter of 2016 is 4.4% (compared with the first quarter of 2015).

GDP volume is AMD 898.2 bln ( USD 1.83 bln). Per capita GDP in the first quarter is USD 613.

So, the GDP real growth is much higer than the forecasts of the RA Government and international organizations. According to the State Budget 2016 the government expects 2.2% real GDP growth in 2016. As for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, they both expect 1.9% GDP growth this year.
